Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent damage of pressure sensitive elements due to heat by a detector wherein a pressure receiving plug formed of heat insulative materials is interposed between the pressure sensitive element and diaphragm. CONSTITUTION:A pressure receiving plug 18 formed of heat insulative materials and servings as a pressure medium is interposed between a pressure sensitive element 14 and a diaphragm 15. In addition, the pressure detector includes an electrode 11, and insulator 12, a housing 13, a lead wire 17, and an earthing lead wire 20 connecting the housing 13 and an earthing delectrode 142 of the pressure sensitive element 14. Pressure in a combustion chamber 4 of a cylinder for internal combustion engines acts on the diaphragm 15 and is then transmitted to the pressure sensitive element 14 through the pressure receiving plug 18. At this time, heat is also transmitted to the pressure sensitive element 14 through the pressure receiving plug 18. However, the pressure receiving plug 18 is formed of heat insulative materials, so that an amount of heat transmitted to the pressure sensitive element 14 is reduced and the pressure sensitive element 14 will not be subject to an adverse effect due to heat.
