Abstract

PURPOSE:To detect and control the compression pressure of a working chamber to regulate the supplied fuel quantity or ignition time of a rotary engine. CONSTITUTION:A pressure sensor 11 for detecting the compression pressure of a working chamber 4 is provided on the cool side of a rotor housing 1. The pressure sensor 11 finds out the absolute pressure by using a strain gauge for measuring the displacement of a movable plate 12 which corresponds to the difference between compression pressure introduced into an outer space 17 and the pressure of an inner enclosed space 14. The supplied fuel quantity or ignition time of a rotary engine is controlled depending on the compression pressure of the working chamber 4 detected by the pressure sensor 11. The cotrol instantly responsive to the working condition of the engine is more accurate than that through the detection of negative pressure of intake.
