Abstract
PURPOSE:To make tensile stress acting upon a cylinder constituting a ram device in a hydraulic press zero and to make the hydraulic press light in weight and high in accuracy by mounting and fixing said cylinder to the bottom surface of a crown. CONSTITUTION:In a hydraulic press, a flange part 22A of a cylindrical cylinder 22 is fixed by means of screws 21, 21A, and a fast feed cylinder 10 is secured to the bottom surface of a crown 4, whereby a ram device 20 is formed. When pressurized oil P3 is supplied and pressure for working product is exerted, the internal pressure of a pressurizing chamber rises. At this time, the stress in a longitudinal direction does not act as tensile stress upon the cylinder 22 because a spacing exists between the inside circumferential part 22D at the bottom end of the cylinder 22 and the outside circumferential part 11A at the top end of a hollow piston 11. Hence, the wall thickness of the cylinder 22 is made thin and the top area of the crown is made small; therefore, the press device of a small size, a light weight and high accuracy is obtained.
