Abstract

PURPOSE:To connect and fix an electrode to a current collector excellently by providing a groove for inserting an electrode on a current collector made of graphite and heating said groove and cooling it after the electrode is inserted in it. CONSTITUTION:A zinc-chlorine cell is formed with zinc as a negative electrode active material, and chlorine having a strong oxidation force as a positive electrode active material. A groove for inserting an electrode is provided on a current collector made of graphite, and an electrode is inserted in this groove to connect them together. During the process, said groove is heated, and the groove width is inflated due to the thermal inflation of graphite itself. The groove is cooled after the electrode is inserted in it, then said groove width is contracted to obtain a strong fixed connection.
