The reflected image of a lamp 3 is slit-exposed onto the drum via a ''selfoc lens''. When the surface charged with a charger 5 arrives at the exposure surface, the plus charge is destaticized by a minus charger 6 and the light image. When the surface thereof arrives at the uniform exposure surface, the electrostatic latent image of high contrast is formed on the drum surface by the light from a mirror 26.
