Abstract
PURPOSE: To prepare both coarse granule of alumina and fine granule of alumina in good productivity using one dipositing line, by adding a relatively small amount of seed in the former stage of the depositing process of Al(OH)3 so that the seed is agglomerated and coarse granule Al(OH)3 is deposited and separated, followed by adding a large amount of seed to the filtrate so that fine granule part is separated.
CONSTITUTION: The highly concentrated Na3AlO3 solution 2 is introduced to the depositing tank 21, to which an under flow containing finely divided Al(OH)3 particles, namely seed, of the classifying device 25 is partially added 9. The seed is agglomerated in the depositing solution, grown, and fed 4 to the classifying device 23.
