Abstract

PURPOSE: To eliminate pinhole generation and carry out painting effectively by a method wherein a can making process is interrupted temporarily when a overlapped part of a container main body and a base plate is bent slightly and painting and baking are applied to the inside of the container.
CONSTITUTION: After the container main body 1 and the base plate 1 are overlapped by a machine, the base plate 2 is bent so as to roll in the leading end thereof for seaming and, at a time when the double seamed part of the container main body 1 and the base plate 2 is bent slightly, this bending process is interrupted temporarily, painting and baking are applied to the inside of the container main body and, subsequently, said double seamed part is completely bent and adhered under pressure once again by the machine. By this process, residual air between the container main body and the base metal is evacuated and pinhole generation is completely avoided and a high quality container having complete inner surface painting applied thereto is obtained.
