CONSTITUTION: This heat resistant cast steel consists of, by wt., 0.3W0.6% C, ≤2.0% Si, ≤2.0% Mn, 20W30% Cr, 30W40% Ni, 0.5W5.0% W, 0.04W0.15% N, 0.04W0.15% Ti and the balance essentially Fe. N stabilizes and strengthens the austenite phase in the form of solubilized nitrogen, and it forms carbonitride together with Ti carbide or C, makes the grains fine, and inhibits the growth, thereby contributing to improvements in the strength at high temp. and the thermal impact characteristics. Ti precipitates and disperses as carbide or carbonitride as mentioned above, and it strengthens the grain boundaries and enhances the intergranular corrosion resistance, thereby considerably enhancing the characteristics at high temp.
