Abstract
PURPOSE:To exercise optimum control over a copying machine while making it free from maintenance with simple constitution and facilitating the modification of setting conditions, by percforming program-control on the basis of a reference value and the detected value of an image forming element which exerts influence on image quality. CONSTITUTION:In an RAM8C constituting a microcomputer 8 together with a CPU8A, an ROM8B stored with a process program, an I/O8D, and an A/D converter 8E, the reference values of image forming elements, such as an exposure lamp voltage, fixing temperature, toner density and a development bias voltage, which influence image quality are so stored as to rewrite easily. On the basis of those reference values and the detected values of the image elements, a copying machine is controlled by processing in accordance with the program in the ROM8B. This constitution eliminates the need for providing an individual external control unit for every image forming element, and thus while maintenance-free constitution is realized, the setting and modification of the image forming elements are facilitated, thereby attaining optimum control over the copying machine.
