Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain the electronic watch characterized by a highly accurate error of one second or less per year by limiting the range of the operating temperature of an AT oscillator in a high frequency oscillating circuit through a temperature detecting device and the like, thereby reducing increase in power consumption. CONSTITUTION:The reference frequency signal for counting from a low frequency oscillator 1 and the frequency of the calibrating signal from a high frequency oscillation control circuit 6 are compared in a comparator 8. An aging error signal is applied to a compensating circuit 2, and the aging error of the reference frequency signal from the circuit 1 and the like are compensated. Meanwhile, the compensating operation of the circuit 2 and an oscillation control circuit 7 which controls the circuits 8 and 6 are activated by a specified temperature range detecting signal from a temperature detector 4. Therefore the circuit 6 and the like are operated only when the range of the operating temperature of the AT cut crystal oscillator in the circuit 6 is limited and the highly accurate compensation can be performed. As a result, increase in the power consumption is reduced and the electronic watch having the highly accurate error of one second per year and the like can be obtained.
