Abstract
PURPOSE:To securely prevent any discharge phenomenon as well as creeping connection of leading-in wires, and obtain a vacuum tube of a high quality and a high voltage-resisting characteristic by forming a film principally consisting of SiO2 on at least peripheral parts of the said leading-in wires which are located on the outer side of a stem. CONSTITUTION:A glass body 1, which is made of a soda or lead glass system having a relatively high expansion coefficient as well as low chemical stability, is provided with an exhaust pipe 1a. Power leading-in wires 2 made of a material having about the same expansion coefficient as the glass body 1, such as Dumet wire, are made to penetrate the glass body 1. At least peripheral parts of the wires 2, which are located on the outer side of the glass body 1 and touch the atmosphere, are coated with a weathering proof film 3 principally consisting of SiO2. Owing to the above constitution, prevention of the discharge phenomenon as well as that of creeping connection of the leading-in wires 2 can be secured, and a high quality vacuum tube with a high voltage-resisting characteristic can be obtained.
