Abstract
PURPOSE:To achieve a high input fiber which has great flexibility, is easy for handling and less in damage, by taking both ends of a fiber bundle into one respectively through the use of a specified die and forming the middle branched into a plurality of fibers. CONSTITUTION:Fiber material is put in to a front stage X of a die from the direction of arrow while being heated at a heating means 10, is passed through nozzle holes 2a-2c and extruded via a rear stage Y. The work is once stopped, the rear stage Y is removed and the intermediate part consisting of fibers f1-f3 of a plurality to be branched is formed. A rear stage Y with different diameter of extrusion is again fitted and united ends are formed. Taking areas of inlet and outlet ends as S1, S2 respectively, cross sections of each fiber as A1, A2,... and S1>=A1+A2+...>=S2 as being satisfied, a high input fiber with great flexibility, ease of handling and less damage can be achieved.
