Abstract
PURPOSE:To always ensure an even width of the ear cutting part regardless of the thickness of the attached developer and to prevent an uneven development, by giving a notched part to a magnet set at the developing position and then attaching a magnetic plate to the notched part. CONSTITUTION:A magnet 3 having a notched part 2 is set at the developing position of a magnetic brush developing device, and an ear cutting part 6 is provided between developers 4 and 5 to increase the width of a developing region. In such method of development, the width (w) of the part 6 becomes uneven to cause an uneven development in case the thickness of attachment of the developers 4 and 5 is small. In this connection, a magnetic plate 9 of SPCC having 2mm. thickness is provided at the part 2. As a result, the variation is secured for the distance between peaks for the magnetic field distribution, and accordingly the width (w) is made even at the part 6 to obtain a high-quality image free from any uneven development.
