Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide operation of high efficiency using a motor of proper capacity for the existent load in such a way that an operation powr discriminating function is added to a controller, and a wound-rotor type motor with ancillary mission in starting stage is stopped to switch the operation over to a squirrel- cage motor, in normal steady operation.
CONSTITUTION: A wound-rotor type motor 5A with ancillary mission in starting stage is started by means of a controller 6 by receiving starting command from outside. When the rated rotational speed is obtained, a primary breaker 8 of a squirrel-cage motor 5B for driving in normal steady operation is closed, to open the ejection valve 2 of a high pressure pump 1. Since the rated rotational speed of the squirrel-cage motor 5B has been already obtained, there is no flow of inrush current even if starting is done by means of direct current input. Then, output is received from a power converter 9 for said two motors 5A, 5B, and the controller 6 disconnects the primary breaker 8 of the wound-rotor type motor 5A by means of operation power discriminating function of the controller 6. Thus, high efficiency operation can be obtained in normal steady operation, by means of squirrel-cage motor 5B in its proper capacity for the existent load.
