Abstract

PURPOSE: To discharge suspended solids efficiently with a simple mechanism by gathering the suspended solids in a screening vessel at one place by means of a weir plate and controlling the leading end position of a suspended solid carrying-out device according to the change in the water level in floatation ore dressing, etc.
CONSTITUTION: In floatation ore dressing, coal washing, etc., a weir gate 2 is provided on the down stream side of a screening vessel 1 to gather suspended solids at one place. The suspended solids are discharged to the outside of the machine by a carrying-out machine 3 of a tilting belt conveyor system or the like of which the leading end part is located below the water surface of the vessel 1. The position of the leading end pulley 7 of this machine 3 is so controlled as to assume a constant position with respect to varying water levels. For example, a water level detector 10 is provided, and the detected value thereof is converted to a control signal which controls an operating device 12 to actuate an oil hydraulic cylinder 9, thereby moving the pulley 7 forward or backward with respect to the changing water levels. Thereby, the transfer angle of the suspended solids remains unchanged and the suspended solids are discharged efficiently.
