Abstract
PURPOSE:To increase the preservation performance of an active material without deteriorating the productivity by cutting an expanded grid so that crosspiece parts of the grid are located at both sides of the grid, and making the horizontal length of the nodal part of the mesh larger than that of the crosspiece part of the mesh. CONSTITUTION:An expanded grid 1' is cut in such a manner that crosspiece parts (a) of meshes of the grid 1' are located at both sides of the grid 1'. This is enabled by continuously punching small holes during the expansion work, at intervals equaling a width W of the grid 1', on a part of a lead alloy strip which is not expanded. Besides, the grid 1' is positioned by means of the above small holes during the formation of a lag, and is positioned by means of the lug during the cutting of the grid 1'. Here, the expanded grid 1' is worked so that a horizontal length (b) of the nodal part of its mesh is larger than a horizontal length (a) of the crosspiece part of the mesh.
