CONSTITUTION:An air current having a velocity component in a direction opposite to the direction of rotation of a combing roller 5 is made to flow from an air path 8 to fibers engaged with teeth 11 of the combing roller 5 in a region just after the point where the fibers are caught by the edges of the teeth 11 to the point where the fibers are engaged with and held stably by the teeth 11. The fibers 13' blown with the air are held stably by the teeth 11 of combing wires and both end parts extended to the rear at the both sides by the action of the working edges (11a) of the teeth 11 are made straight.
