Abstract

PURPOSE:To easily separate the front end of a recording paper after transfer certainly from the surface of a photosensitive drum, by providing a device for curling the end of the paper before transferring a toner image, and a device for correcting curl after-fixing. CONSTITUTION:When the front end of a recording paper 20 fed with a pair of paper feed rollers 23 actuates a detection switch 36, a curl-giving roller 24 is rotated a given time after the detection signal due to a delay circuit. A metallic roller 24b smaller in diameter is intruded on a soft rubber roller 24a larger in diameter, and the paper 20 is moved under pressure in the arrow direction. After curling it by the given length, the paper 20 is conveyed without being curled, with the roller 24b released. After an image has been transferred with transfer stations 26, 27, the image is heat-fixed to the paper 20 with a heat- fixing device 31, the paper is detected with a switch 37, its curled front end is corrected in curl between a soft roller 32a and a metallic roller 32b smaller in diameter.
