Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent safelight fogging by adding a blue dye absorbing light of 680-710nm to an orthosensitized and gold sensitized silver halide emulsion layer. CONSTITUTION:To an emulsion layer and/or a layer on the emulsion layer is added a blue dye absorbing light of at least 680-710nm and capable of being decolored in a developing process. The preferred blue dye has the maximum absorption wavelength in about 690-710nm, and the dye content is adjusted to such a degree that the reflection density of the dye is made a+0.25[where (a) is reflection density in case of no blue dye]through an interference filter transmitting light of 690nm wavelength and having <=5mm. half-width. When the sensititivity of the layer is increased by orthosensitization with sensitivity maximum in 530-580nm and gold sensitization, the sensitization is remarkable in the wavelength range of 690-700nm, and fogging due to red safelight is caused.
