Abstract
PURPOSE:To make a watertight housing small-sized, by connecting a metallic pressure resisting case to an optical cable leading-in part of the watertight housing, and forming in one body an optical fiber sealing part and an optical fiber excess length store part, in its inside. CONSTITUTION:A feed pipe 15 is connected to a wall 14 being nearer a watertight housing 3 of a metallic pressure resisting case 13 for storing the excess length of an optical fiber 11, and an optical fiber sealing part 16 is projected and provided in the case. This optical fiber 4 is sealed in advance by use of a low temperature brazing material 19, etc. and is fixed airtightly. To the other wall 20, a feed pipe 21 of an optical fiber cable 10 is connected, and its optical fiber 11 is connected to the optical fiber 4. These walls 4, 20 are coupled airtightly with an outside wall by use of an ''O'' ring 26, etc., and are covered with insulating materials 17, 24 and 23. In this way, it is possible to make the housing small-sized.
