Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the working properties of an inspector for position detecting mechanism, by comparing the shift information signal with the prescribed numerical value in the control of operation of an automatic travelling device and accordingly realizing an inspection for the region width of a position code signal, etc. CONSTITUTION:The inspector includes a code member 1 which has the information regions that are different by the position, detecting means 2 and 3 which detect the information regions on the member 1, and driving mechanisms 6 and 7 that give a relative shift to the means 2 and 3 and at the same time produce the shift information signal with every prescribed distance of shift. A circuit 82 compares the output contents of the means 3 with the contents previously selected, and a counter 84 counts the shift information signals S1 during a period which is set by the output of the above-mentioned comparison. Furthermore a circuit 86 compares the count contents of the counter 84 with the prescribed numerical value K. Thus the operation of the means can be inspected at a desired position on the member 1 by the output of the circuit 86.
