Abstract
PURPOSE:To make a terminal station have an optical amplifying function so that a log of terminal stations can be connected to an optical transmission line. CONSTITUTION:A main signal 19 from an optical transmission line 1 is attenuated as prescribed, by a variable attenuator 15, and is synthesized with an insertion data 18 synchronizing with a transmission timing signal 13. A signal which has synthesized both of them becomes an optical signal by an electric signal/optical signal converting circuit 5, and is synthesized with an optical signal from an optical bypass line 17 by a partial transmission type mirror 10'. The output of the circuit 5 is that which has synthesized the signal 19 and the data 18, but the signal from the bypass line 17 is only a main signal, therefore, when both of them are synthesized as they are, dissidence of their peak values is caused. That is why, the main signal 19 is attenuated and is synthesized with the data 18. Accordingly, when a level of the signal 19 is lowered and is synthesized with the data 18, the output synthesized with the signal from the bypass line 17 by the mirror 10' becomes an output whose peak value has concided.
