PURPOSE:To demagnetize the part to be demagnetized effectively by applying currents for demagnetization while turning the part to be demagnetized. CONSTITUTION:A demagnetizing coil 6 is set to the annular part 2 for sealing a glass vessel of a multiplier tube 1 such as an X-ray image as the part to be demagnetized through a slider rail 9. A shaft 10 is turned according to a predetermined turning program, AC currents are applied to the demagnetizing coil 6, and the coil is attenuated smoothly according to a prescribed demagnetizing program. When AC voltage reaches zero, the turning of the shaft 10 is stopped, and the annular part 2 is demagnetized completely.
