Abstract

PURPOSE: To make the device small by a structure wherein the cross sectional area of a plunger is reduced by two steps, resulting in allowing to make the cross sectional area of a power piston.
CONSTITUTION: A plunger 24 consists of a part having with a cross sectional area A2 and a small diametral part having with a cross sectional area A1 and a tip part or engaging rod 29 to open a check velve 28. When the plunger 24 is moved rightward by the power piston actuated with air pressure, at first the check valve 28 is closed with the rightward movement of the engaging rod 29 and, when moved further, because the volume of a decompression chamber 25 is increased by the displaced volume of the plunger, the decrease of brake pressure is resulted. At the initial stage of the decrease of brake pressure, the brake pressure is applied only on the cross sectional area A1 of the small diametral part 31 of the plunger due to a sealing member 32. After the decrease of brake pressure attained to a certain degree with the further rightward movement of the plunger 24, the small diametral part 31 comes off the sealing member 32 and consequently the brake pressure is applied on the cross sectional area A2 of the plunger 24. Owing to the structure as described above, the force for pressing the plunger is rendered to be small and as a result the diameter of the power piston can be reduced, resulting in making the device small.
