Abstract
PURPOSE: To carry out curing easily and efficiently by a simple apparatus and a method by irradiating infrared rays to an uncured molded product comprising a heat curable silicone rubber composition such as methyl polysiloxane or the like to cure the same.
CONSTITUTION: After a mixture consisting of 100pts. silicone rubber compound and 1.5pts. silicone rubber catalyst is charged in an extruder 4, a tubular body with 3mm outer diameter and 1mm inner diameter is continuously extruded from a die orifice 5 thereof and subsequently passed through a quartz tube 1 at a linear speed of 5m/min. Tensile strength of the tubular body after passing is 83kg/cm2 and said tubular body is completely cured. The aforementioned quartz tube is one of which a diameter is 50mm and a length 500mm and, around a periphery thereof, a coil like nichrome wire 2 of 100V, 2KW is wound and, to said nichrome wire 2, a spiral groove is formed and a quartz member 3 to which gold plating treatment is applied is fixed to said groove.
