Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain an optical switch for remote control of a simple light-weight and thin structure with high safety, by setting an end of each of the incident and output optical fibers oppositely within a closed space covered with a flexible member. CONSTITUTION:The optical fibers 7 are set opposite to each other within a closed space 8d which is formed by putting a flexible cover 8a over a base 8b. A cylindrical lens 8c is set at the edge of each fiber 7. The light emitted from the input optical fiber 7 is led to the output optical fiber 7 through the space 8d. This light is cut off by pressing the cover 8a with a finger 2, etc. As a result, a remote control optical switch is obtained in a simple light-weight and thin structure with high safety.
