Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a battery holding device, which facilitates the exchange of battries and causes no power breaking, by providing a common contact, which pushes off a battery attached to a receiving hole when another battery is set in the other receiving hole, between the receiving holes in which batteries are fitted. CONSTITUTION:A battery 8 is installed and held with electrodes 8A and 8B fitted into insulating receiving holes 10a and 10b (or 10a' and 10b'), respectively. The receiving holes 10a and 10a' (or 10b and 10b') are located on the opposite sides to a rotating pipe 10, and are integrated with the pipe 10. The pipe 10 is supported with a supporting arm 11 so that the pipe 10 is rotatable. The holes 10a and 10b are communicated with the holes 10a' and 10b' by means of common bar contacts 12a and 12b, respectively. The lengths of the common bar contacts 12a and 12b are adjusted so that no space for any electrode is allowed in one of the holes 10a and 10a' when an electrode of the battery 8 is fitted in the other hole.
