CONSTITUTION:A coating carrier coated with an insulating resin is used as a carrier, which is mixed with a toner, and a developing agent of uniform composition is adsorbed to a developing sleeve 3 with magntic force. The adsorbed developer is conveyed by the revolution of the sleeve, controlled to a specified thickness (h) by a doctor blade 5 and sent to a developing section. The sleeve and a photosensitive drum 4 are rotated in the directions of A and C, respectively, and the distance between the sleeve and the photosensitive drum is set to <=1mm.. The developing agent is improved in conveyability, and therefore the allowance range h is enlarged and clogging by the developer is prevented.
