Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain plating having an enough thickness to produce an anticorrosive effect without incurring the danger of explosion by using a Zn-Sn or Cd-Sn alloy as a metal for spraying on the surface of steel or the like. CONSTITUTION:The Sn content of a Zn-Sn or Cd-Sn alloy used as a spraying material is adjusted to about 10-95wt%. The grain size depends on the composition of the alloy, the usage purpose of a product or the kind of a sprayer, and it is not especially restricted. For example, shots of a Zn40-Sn60 (wt%) alloy having 2mm. diameter are sprayed on the dry shot blasted surface of a high tensile steel billet with an impeller type shot blaster at 70m/sec spraying speed for 10min. The spraying is well carried out at ordinary temp., and dense Zn-Sn alloy plating assuming a silver white color is obtd. on the billet surface in 50mum film thickness.
