Abstract

PURPOSE: To form a particle having a nicely treated surface without secondary agglomeration, by dispersing a particle to be treated in a soln. of a surface- treating agent introducing and passing the resulting dispersion through a long heating tube, and discharging it from the opposite end.
CONSTITUTION: A surface-treating agent is dissolved in an org. solvent in which a particle to be treated difficultly dissolves and then the dried product or the wet cake of said particle is dispersed in the resulting soln. The resulting dispersion is sent from tank 1 into long heating tube 3 pref. of a length/diameter ratio ≥ about 400 by constant-rate feeder 2, and after most of the valatile component is evaporated in a short time during passage through the tube 3, it is injected into solid-liquid separator 4 at a rate ≥30m/sec to evaporate any residual volatile components. Then a particle coated with the treating agent is collected from discharge device 5 and the volatilized solvent is recovered through bag filter 6 in recovery apparatus 7. Mark 8 represents a vacuum pump installed if necessary.
