Abstract

PURPOSE: Effective removal of nitrogen content present in waste water by scattering about pH-adjusted waste water as droplets within a vacuum tank, evaporating ammonia gas present in water and deodorizing.
CONSTITUTION: The pH-adjusted waste water is released in the form of welling-up within a vacuum tank to evaporate ammonia gas. The ammonia gas is introduced into a deodorization apparatus to realese the gas as odorless H2 and H2O into the atmosphere and to recover the waste water after the separation of ammonia gas. For example, waste water is adjusted to a pH of 10 to 11 in a conduit 7, and pumped up to introduce it into a vacuum tank 6 in which the waste water is knocked against a baffle 12 and scattered about as droplets. Ammonia gas present in water is pumped up by means of a vacuum pump 10 and introduced into the deodorization apparatus, and converted to N2 and H2O. N2 and H2O is released from a chimney 20 into the atmosphere. Water after the separation of ammonia gas is supplied through a downflow pipe 15 to a treating tank 14 and withdrawn from a conduit 24.
