Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve efficiency of inprocess transportation by connecting various machine tools to an automatic transportation system with performance of each individual machine tool maintained undistrubed. CONSTITUTION:A vertical milling machine A, multiple-spindle drilling machine B and a boring mill C are installed in such a manner that each of work support conveyor table 7, 8 is butted against the side of a conveyor guide system 10. When machining under the milling machine A is finished, a support arm 10h of the milling machine A turns downward, holds a palette table 9 from both sides. Under this condituon, a slide table 10i slides to the right until the slide end is reached. Now that the palette table 9 is positioned across the support table 8 and the conveyor table 7 of the drilling machine B which is the next machine to work, the slide table 10i of the drilling machine B is moved above the table 9, and the support arm 10h of the machine holds the table 9 and position the slide table 10i right beneath the spindle 3 for drilling operation.
