Abstract
PURPOSE: To enable various kinds of turning such as chamfering, drilling, grooving and polishing in the process of pressure formation with a punch, by utilizing a multistage former for manufacturing pressure-formed products by successive stages.
CONSTITUTION: A tool holding shaft 5 is rotatably supported by a bearing 18 in a die fitting hole 4 extending through in a front-to-rear direction. A rotary tool 9 is removably attached to a mounting section 6. A material 8 is pushed out by a plate cam 14 during the forward motion of a moving ram 12 just before the end of the forward motion so that a small clearance is kept between the material 8 and the tool 9. At every forward motion of the ram 12, a push- out mechanism acts to press the material 8 on the rotating tool 9. For that reason, various kinds of turning such as cutting, chamfering and polishing can be simply and surely effected simultaneously with pressure formation.
