Abstract

PURPOSE:To detect and to give warning on occasion of mixing water in fuel in a fuel pipe, by interposing liquid fuel between a light source and photodetecting sensor and watching output of the photodetecting sensor. CONSTITUTION:When water is mixed in fuel in a fuel pipe 1, the quantity of light made incident to a photodetecting part 9 is lowered and output voltage of a sensor amplifier 11 is lowered also, because projected light from a light emission part is scattered by mixed water until said light is reached the part 9. When this output voltageis lowered less than the standard voltage of a standard voltage generation circuit 13, a signal is outputted from a comparison circuit 12 to an amplifier 14 and an alarm is given acting a relay 15 and an alarm 16. Hereby, necessity of maintenance is warned to an opearator because the water is collected in the fuel tank.
