Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable recording of stable binary signals magnetically and thermally, by forming a photo-thermal magnetic recording medium, through the provision of an amorphous magnetic substance film and a high permeability magnetic substance thin film sequentially on a transparent base. CONSTITUTION:An amorphous magnetic substance thin film 2 is formed on a transparent base 1 with a method such as vacuum deposition, and electron beam deposition, and a non-magnetic member is formed by a method such as plating, vacuum deposition and coating on it, if required to form a non-magnetic intermediate layer thin film 4, and a high permeability magnetic substance is formed on it with a method such as plating and vacuum deposition to form a high permeability magnetic thin film 3. As the transparent base, a transparent material such as glass plate and plastic plate is used, and a target member to form an amorphous magnetic thin film, for example, Gd-Co alloy, Gd-Fe alloy, Tb-Fe alloy or Dy-Fe alloy is used. Further, as the high permeability magnetic substance, transition metal of Fe, Co, Ni or the like or its alloy, and as the non-magnetic substance material, metal such as Cu, Al, Zn, and Sn or its alloy, oxide or resin is used.
