Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent an extraordinary combustion by providing on an auxiliary burner beside a main burner, a sensor which stops combustion by detecting a decrease of oxygen in room air. CONSTITUTION:A shut-off valve 7 is opened and gas is supplied through a fuel supplying main pipe 2 and a main burner 1 is ignited. An auxiliary burner 8 is ignited by flame F1 and exhaust gas of the flame F2 passes above a periphery of a sensor 10 and produces a signal, corresponding to the density of oxygen which is fed to a control circuit 14. When the density of oxygen in the room air decreases, the density difference of oxygen between inside and outside of the sensor 10 becomes larger, increasing electromotive force which in turn increases an input to the control circuit 14. When an output of the sensor 10 exceeds a predetermined value, the control circuit 14 sends a signal to the shut-off valve 7 through a signal line 16 to close the valve, suspending combustion at the main burner 1 and the auxiliary burner 8.
