Abstract
PURPOSE: To save the mold cost by a method wherein a rib or a boss which has been separately molded is placed on an upper or lower mold faced to a vacuum forming mold for a formed article main body, a thermosetting adhesive is coated on the rib or the boss at the part to be bonded to the main body, and the rib or the boss is integrally bonded to the main body simultaneously with the vacuum forming of the main body.
CONSTITUTION: The rib 2 or the boss 3 previously molded by injection molding or the like is placed at a predetermined position of the upper mold 5 fitted to a vacuum forming material, and is coated with the thermosetting adhesive 6. The forming material is heated and is vacuum formed into the formed article main body 1 by the vacuum forming mold 4. simultaneously with the vacuum forming of the main body, the upper mold 5 is lowered to press the joining part of the rib 2 or the boss 3 againt the main body 1, and the adhesive is hardened, thereby obtaining the formed article 1 having the integrated rib and boss.
