Abstract

PURPOSE:To decrease the variance of each phase shifter when these are in operation, by fitting a temperature detector to each phase shifter and operating a controller according to the temperature characteristics of the phase shifters. CONSTITUTION:Microwaves transmitted from a transmitter 5 are suitably split at a power feeding system 4 and are subjected to a prescribed phase shift at a ferrite phase shifter 3 and radiated from each element antenna 2. The phase shifter 3 is made by winding an energizing coil 9 on a ferrite core 8 located to the inside of a rectangular waveguide externally, and a prescribed phase shift is provided to the microwave signals by flowing a prescribed current from a driving device 6 to the energizing coil 9. A thermister 10 for temperature detection is fitted near the ferrite core 8 and it detects the temperature change in the phase shifter 3 caused due to the current in the coil 9 and environment, and the output is applied to a controller 11 to control the temperature of the driving device 6.
