Abstract
PURPOSE:To produce titled steel of high adhesive strength, good product yields and a long size by adhering both end parts of double blank pipes tightly, specifying the adhesion length thereof and the clearance between the blank pipes in the intermediate part respectively and welding the blank pipes at both ends then hot rolling the same. CONSTITUTION:A cladding pipe 2 of stainless steel, Ni or Ni alloy is fitted into a base pipe 1 of carbon steel or low alloy steel, whereby double blank pipes are made. Thence, the end parts of the pipe 2 are expanded and the outside circumferential surface of the pipe 2 and the inside circumferential surface of the pipe 1 are tightly adhered in both end parts of the double blank pipes. The relation between the length S of the adhered parts of this time and the outside diameter D of the pipe 2 is set at S>=D/2. Also, the difference l between the inside diameter (d) of the pipe 1 and the outside diameter D of the pipe 2 in the intermediate part other than both adhered parts is set at <=1.4% the outside diameter of the pipe 2. At the pipe ends, the pipe 1 and the pipe 2 are firmly build-up welded by weld zones 3, after which the pipes are hot-rolled, whereby the pipe clad steel is produced.
