Abstract
PURPOSE:To perform a rolling stably, by making the dia. of 1st outer work roll at the inlet side and that of 3rd outer work roll at the outlet side almost same, and making the dia. of 2nd outer work roll at the 2nd screw-down point larger by special times as long as the dia. of 1st roll and 2nd one. CONSTITUTION:Three work rolls 2, 4, 6 are arranged at the outer circumference of a center work roll 1 of small dia., shifted approximately 120 deg. respectively, to obtain three screw-down points with four work rolls 1, 2, 4, 6 thereby rolling a strip 5 by almost 2/3 circumference of the roll 1. The dia. D1 of 1st outer work roll 2 at the inlet side and D3 of 3rd outer work roll 4 are made to be almost the same, and the dia. D2 of 2nd outer work roll 6 at the 2nd screw-down point is made larger than that of other work rolls 2, 4 by >=1.5 the dia. of other rolls, and the cold reduction rate at the 2nd screw-down point is restrained <=15%.
