Abstract

PURPOSE:To facilitate sealing and exhaust and improve mass production by sealing both inner and outer bulbs by means of a single sealing substance, providing an exhaust tube, and supporting a high frequency electromagnetic field generating coil. CONSTITUTION:The open end of a glass outer bulb 4 on which a phosphor coat 8 is formed and a glass inner bulb 5 which incorporates a high frequency electromagnetic field generating coil 15 and on the external surface of which an electromagnetic wave screening mesh 11 is applied is sealed integratedly by a sealing substance 7 consisting of metal plates and the exhaust tubes 13 and 20 of the inner and outer bulbs 4 and 5 are formed in the sealing substance 7. An electrodeless discharge lamp is formed by mounting the open end on the upper surface of a base 1 which incorporates an oscillator circuit 6 and has a metal cap 2. Thus both the inner and outer bulbs 4 and 5 are of a unit type which has the respective independent space. As a result, fitting and exhaust are facilitated and mass production can be improved.
