CONSTITUTION:A faceplate 1 formed with a black guard band and a phosphor material film is set on a rotary supporter 7 while facing the inner face upward, then a thermal decomposition organic material 8 having low hardness is injected while rotating and dried to form the first intermediate film. Here the intermediate film is formed only slightly at the corner of the faceplate. Thereafter it is supported while facing the inner face downward and the thermal decomposition organic material having high hardness is blown while rotating and dried to form the second intermediate coating. Then a metalback layer is formed on it and baked. Consequently the blister liable to occur in the intermediate double coating method at the corner can be eliminated.
