Abstract
PURPOSE: To reduce a machine work largely by engaging a hook formed by bending a part of a rack tube with an engaging groove mounted on the outer periphery of a rack bush to be fixed each other.
CONSTITUTION: When a rack bush 7 is pushed into a rack tube 6 from its taper surface 7a first, the taper surface 7a strikes on a hook 16 of a rack tube. When this is further pushed therein, the taper surface 7a is pushed by the leading portion of the hook 16 and contacted inward, and simultaneously the hook 16 is elastically deformed outward by reaction force from the taper surface 7a, whereby the hook 16 gets over the taper surface 7a relatively, and when it gets over there, the hook 16 is restored to the original form to be engaged with an engaging groove 17 of the rack bush 7.
