Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain the titled aqueous emulsion having improved stability, forming a film having improved water resistance, by using a specific water-dispersing urethane modified vinyl type polymer as a dispersant.
CONSTITUTION: A water-dispersing urethane modified vinyl type polymer having an ionic group and polyurethane segment at its side chain and nitrocellulose are dispersed into an aqueous medium. The vinyl type polymer as a dispersant has an anionic group such as an alkali salt of a carboxylic acid as an ionic group, an cationic group such as an acid salt of a group containing a basic tertiary nitrogen atom, and a polysegment having a molecular weight of ≥300. The acid value is ≥20. The vinyl type polymer and the nitrocellulose are dissolved in an organic solvent, an aqueous solvent is added to the solution, the ionic group in the polymer is dissociated, the polymer is dispersed into the aqueous medium, and, if necessary, the organic solvent is removed.
