Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the holding strength of an active substance by forming undulation in the direction of thickness and rifts in the longitudinal direction of a band- shaped sheet made of lead or lead alloy and forming undulation with curvature and twist on grid bones by extending in the direction of width. CONSTITUTION:Contraction work is applied in the direction of width of a band- shaped sheet 10 made of lead or lead alloy, forming a concaved part 11, convex part 12, concaved part, convex part,... alternately, and on the boundary of the convex part and concaved part, rifts 13 are formed in parallel to the longitudinal direction. Contraction work in the convex part 12, concaved part 11, and ... is performed at the position where center is shifted by 1/2 pitch of the unevenness in the direction of width and shifted by 1/2 of the length of rift in the longitudinal direction, thus forming the rifts 13. The sheet 10 is extended in the direction of width, providing complicated bending, undulation, twist on to grid bone. Therefore, the bonding between an active substance and grid bones is kept strong, and falling- off of the active substance due to external force and vibration can be prevented, and the service life of battery can be increased.
