Abstract

PURPOSE: To fuse and remove slag efficiently from a fused surface by carrying a steel material having been cut without hindrance to the carriage of the following steel material, by providing a main frame with a tuning device that engages with and disengages from a steel material to be carried and a fusing-away device that moves at right angles to the carriage direction.
CONSTITUTION: When steel material 4 is carried and reaches the 1st holding point, front-surface fusing-away device 1 is pushed via tuning device 6. As a result, device 1 runs along rail 10 together with steel material 4. Simultaneously, traverse saddle 7 is driven by traverse motor 11 at right angles to the lengthwise direction of steel material 4. Consequently, fusing-away nozzle 5 moves along the lower end part of a front-side cut surface to fuse and remove slag 4a from the lower end part. Further, nozzle 5 floats following the reverse surface of steel material 4 by moving up and down elevating slider 13 through elevating cylinder 12.
