Abstract
PURPOSE: To enable a ram beam to be replaced in a short time without dividing it, by a method wherein the ram beam fitted to an extruder is moved to the opposite side of the extruder to detach it, and a new ram beam for fitting is moved to the side of the extruder to fit it thereto.
CONSTITUTION: A trestle 30 for placing a ram beam is constructed of the following structure. A trestle 5 is laid from a deck 7 on the side of an extruder at the end part of a coke oven toward a deck 8 on the side of a guide car. To the trestle 5 is fitted a ram beam-moving member 12 almost on the same lavel with the under side of a ram beam 3 fitted to the extruder, and at the same time a guard member 13 for guarding the ram beam 3 is provided. On the ram beam-moving member 12 of the trestle 30 for placing the ram beam, the ram beam fitted to the extruder 1 is moved to the opposite side of the extruder to detach the ram beam 3 from the extruder 1 and to remove it from the trestle 30 for placing the ram beam. Then a fitling ram beam 3 placed on the ram beam-moving member 12 is moved to the side of the extruder 1 to fit it to extruder. In this way, the replacement of the ram beam is made possible in about half of the time required in conventional methods without dividing the ram beam.
