Abstract

PURPOSE: To increase the wire drawing speed, by installing a device to quickly heat the rod by condensing the heat wave source through a condenser upon the rod.

The heat wave emitted from the wiry heater 4 is reflected by the reflector plate 5 and advances along the arrowed directions and is condensed upon the rod (a) which is hereby heated quickly to desired temperature while it travels toward the drawing die 2; and then, the rod (a) is drawn into the wire through the die 2.
