Abstract

PURPOSE: To properly evaluate the melt sticking property of coke-oven charged material, by replacing part of the standard coke-oven charged material with material to be measured for melt sticking property, sintering the replaced material, and then measuring the tensile strength of the cokes.
CONSTITUTION: One or more kinds of appropriate raw coal are selected, and the log MF weighted average (the common logarithm of the maximum fluidity-log MFo) of the selected coal with the single or combined condition is calculated. Then, part of the standard coke-over charged material is replaced with material to be measured for melt sticking property. In this case, when log MF of the material to be measured for melt sticking property is shown by log MFs, the tensile strength δTS of the sintered coke is as follows: δTS=a[(100-x/100)log MFo+(x/100)log MFs]+b. Once the relationship between the tensile strength of sintered cokes and the maximum fluidity is available graphically, (x), log MFo, (a), and (b) are obtainable. Therefore, log MFs is obtained by measuring a tensile strength δTS.
