Abstract
PURPOSE:To control stable constant output over entire speed range of the thyristor motor by controlling the interbrush corresponding voltage of a DC machine irrespective of the line speed and reducing the torque ripple of a mechanical system in the low speed range having a resonance point. CONSTITUTION:A variable frequency variable voltage is applied from a power source through thyristor converters 6, 7 to a roll driving motor 3 in a rolling mill under control. A signal from a pilot generator 27 is inputted thereto, the motor rotates in proportion to the speed up to the basic speed omegaB becoming the interbrush corresponding voltage VS of rated DC machine and rotates constantly at above the speed omegaB in the output of a VS command generator 28. The output from the generator 28 is applied to a VS control circuit 29 together with the output from a VS detector 14. Thus, the circuit 29 will control the field of the motor, and the firing pulse of the converter 7 id controlled by a basic leading phase beta0 command arithmetic circuit 31 to which the output of a tension current command arithmetic circuit 30 is applied. Thus, the torque ripple in low speed range can be reduced, and the variation in the tension can be prevented.
